Thinking of bringing the benefits of this technique to your clients? If so, the next opportunity is to advance to level 2 - Professional Care Training (PCT). This course applies a multi-system approach demonstrating bodywork techniques, learning specific detailed anatomy and physiology, addressing herbal, nutritional, spiritual and emotional support.
Here’s what’s in store for you when you attend a level 2 – Professional Care Training

Anterior Protocol
You build on your own experience of performing your Self Care routine by learning to apply it to your clients. You review the abdominal protocol; a gentle, non invasive and external sequence of inspired movements which facilitates the flow of the blood, lymph and nervous system, as well as the all important energetic life force known as Chul’el in Maya. By keeping these 5 systems flowing you enhance the natural balance of the body supporting it tobe the best it can be.
You learn why helping to relax the abdominal muscles with this massage is so important in  helping the internal organs to function optimally; what conditions clients could expect support and improvement with and ultimately how to step with them in their healing journey on a physical and emotional level.

Posterior Protocol
This is what makes the full treatment (including the back work) a truely holistic, integrative treatment, not just a “belly massage”. Since your focus is to maintain or restore balance in the abdominal cavity, the Arvigo® Techniques of Maya Adbominal Therapy (ATMAT) has a complete sequence that addresses the posterior body via the fascia and ligaments; hip alignment, sacral and coccygeal issues and dysfunction.

Teaching Self Care
You will learn that ATMAT’s aim is empowerment, so all your clients who receive a full treatment are taught their own self care routine just as you did on your SC class. You know with your own experence how valuable it has been in understanding your own body and what it presents with and that participating in your own self care encourages healing sooner than those who are passive in their treatments.

Teaching Team
Your teachers and assistants will provide you with the highest quality education, packed with engaging teaching styles, techniques and tools to make your expereince a nutruing and empowering experience. Your week will be filled with plenty of time to practice your newly learn skills, connect with your fellow classmates and feel held in a safe and stimulating environment.

“I cannot close without identifying my great teachers: Beth Townsend, Gloria de Gast, and Tina Torii (their assistant). They were a dynamic trio that led our Professional Care Training class of twelve into six information packed days. Beth and Gloria delivered eloquently structured lectures, supported with well-curated slides and the Arvigo manual, a comprehensive tome detailing Rosita Arvigo's massage protocols and the ancient remedies she acquired from her studies under Don Elijio. So much to take in!  My teachers provided a myriad of ways for us to connect with this material: visual, audial, and experiential. And best of all, they fearlessly approached the component that so often gets dismissed or does not exist in formal trainings: the spiritual. Using rituals founded in the ancient practice of the Maya, they modeled the deeply intentional and meditative approach to doing this bodywork. This was an awakening. It served to remind me that I am a seasoned healer, holding the wisdom of so many in my hands. When I touch a patient, I am sharing what I've learned from my teachers and what I've learned from all the other bodies I've touched. This is a genuine gift and in exchanging this wisdom with one person I am entering a spiritual and sacred contract with him/her to continue growing with this gift.  Between practitioner and client this is a mutual act of sharing, trust, patience, and faith. It demands letting go and holding open an emotional space for ourselves and our clients. Grounding my practice with this attention to the spiritual is an outcome that I did not envision when I took that leap of faith and signed up for this training. But it goes without saying that it is an invaluable redirection of my purpose in this work, and for that I am most grateful.” (Martie)

Mentoring and Assisting Program
Once you have completed PCT it’s not the end of your learning or support. You will be assigned a mentor who is there to support you as you integrate ATMAT in your clinical practice. Your mentor is there to answer any questions you may have and to encourage you to complete your case studies if your desire is to attend future advanced classes.
You will be encouraged to come and assist at SC and PCT. Each time you assit at a class it’s your opportunity to revise your knowledge and gain confidence in your own practice.

“And much to my surprise the journey does not stop when class is over. Gloria (the mentor)is always ready with a quick answer and input whenever I have a question, which I often do. She is still my guide and mentor for my case studies and for anything else that comes up.” (Tracy)

The Arvigo® Community
Graduation from the Professional Care Training includes one year membership of MAIA (Maya Arvigo International Association). MAIA allows you access to the Arvigo website (arvigotherapy.co) where you will be listed on the‘Find a Therapist’area and have use of useful documents, brochures, leaflets and practice building information.
You will be able to attend the bi-annual convention held to continue this connection with your fellow practitioners from all over the world, and listen to fascinating speakers.
MAIA encourages the creation and support of regional community leaders and will signpost you to the many meetings that occur to further support professional development. If there is not one in your area, MAIA can supoort you in setting one up yourself.
