Thinking of bringing the benefits of this technique to your clients? If so, the next opportunity is to advance to level 2 - Professional Care Training (PCT). This course applies a multi-system approach demonstrating bodywork techniques, learning specific detailed anatomy and physiology, addressing herbal, nutritional, spiritual and emotional support.
Here’s what’s in store for you when you attend a level 2 – Professional Care Training
You build on your own experience of performing your Self Care routine by learning to apply it to your clients. You review the abdominal protocol; a gentle, non invasive and external sequence of inspired movements which facilitates the flow of the blood, lymph and nervous system, as well as the all important energetic life force known as Chul’el in Maya. By keeping these 5 systems flowing you enhance the natural balance of the body supporting it tobe the best it can be.
You learn why helping to relax the abdominal muscles with this massage is so important in helping the internal organs to function optimally; what conditions clients could expect support and improvement with and ultimately how to step with them in their healing journey on a physical and emotional level.
This is what makes the full treatment (including the back work) a truely holistic, integrative treatment, not just a “belly massage”. Since your focus is to maintain or restore balance in the abdominal cavity, the Arvigo® Techniques of Maya Adbominal Therapy (ATMAT) has a complete sequence that addresses the posterior body via the fascia and ligaments; hip alignment, sacral and coccygeal issues and dysfunction.
Teaching Self Care
You will learn that ATMAT’s aim is empowerment, so all your clients who receive a full treatment are taught their own self care routine just as you did on your SC class. You know with your own experence how valuable it has been in understanding your own body and what it presents with and that participating in your own self care encourages healing sooner than those who are passive in their treatments.
Your teachers and assistants will provide you with the highest quality education, packed with engaging teaching styles, techniques and tools to make your expereince a nutruing and empowering experience. Your week will be filled with plenty of time to practice your newly learn skills, connect with your fellow classmates and feel held in a safe and stimulating environment.
“I cannot close without identifying my great teachers: Beth Townsend, Gloria de Gast, and Tina Torii (their assistant). They were a dynamic trio that led our Professional Care Training class of twelve into six information packed days. Beth and Gloria delivered eloquently structured lectures, supported with well-curated slides and the Arvigo manual, a comprehensive tome detailing Rosita Arvigo's massage protocols and the ancient remedies she acquired from her studies under Don Elijio. So much to take in! My teachers provided a myriad of ways for us to connect with this material: visual, audial, and experiential. And best of all, they fearlessly approached the component that so often gets dismissed or does not exist in formal trainings: the spiritual. Using rituals founded in the ancient practice of the Maya, they modeled the deeply intentional and meditative approach to doing this bodywork. This was an awakening. It served to remind me that I am a seasoned healer, holding the wisdom of so many in my hands. When I touch a patient, I am sharing what I've learned from my teachers and what I've learned from all the other bodies I've touched. This is a genuine gift and in exchanging this wisdom with one person I am entering a spiritual and sacred contract with him/her to continue growing with this gift. Between practitioner and client this is a mutual act of sharing, trust, patience, and faith. It demands letting go and holding open an emotional space for ourselves and our clients. Grounding my practice with this attention to the spiritual is an outcome that I did not envision when I took that leap of faith and signed up for this training. But it goes without saying that it is an invaluable redirection of my purpose in this work, and for that I am most grateful.” (Martie)
Mentoring and Assisting Program
Once you have completed PCT it’s not the end of your learning or support. You will be assigned a mentor who is there to support you as you integrate ATMAT in your clinical practice. Your mentor is there to answer any questions you may have and to encourage you to complete your case studies if your desire is to attend future advanced classes.
You will be encouraged to come and assist at SC and PCT. Each time you assit at a class it’s your opportunity to revise your knowledge and gain confidence in your own practice.
“And much to my surprise the journey does not stop when class is over. Gloria (the mentor)is always ready with a quick answer and input whenever I have a question, which I often do. She is still my guide and mentor for my case studies and for anything else that comes up.” (Tracy)
The Arvigo® Community

For the first time in November we will host one in The Netherlands!
Today I was asked by a very qualified therapist why she should apply to our Self Care Arvigo® class instead of jumping on the Professional Care Training, since she already had the basis for a massage work and she already work with clients.
Often I get this kind of comments since most of my students are already wonderful practitioners in various different fields, now I really understand the answer and the process since I am interning as a Professional teacher and I get to see both stages and what makes a therapist an Arvigo® Practitioner!
How much time of the day do you spend for your Self Care? How much time do you actually do what you suggest to your clients? How good are you with yourself?
When we deal with our clients we teach them Self Care and Supportive Modalities, which is a clear path into ones health care, and we engage them in their own abdominal balance, and possibly much more. We try to give our clients the power of understanding what is going on in themselves in order for them to take charge of their own health. This does not mean that they are not visiting their practitioners anymore, this means though that they are aware of what is happening and they are fully invested in their own remission or keeping their well balance.
The idea is to change the paradigm becoming completely active and work together with her/his practitioner of choice. Of course combining the Self Care with the Arvigo® Session is very important, but they are so much more powerful if the client is fully engaged.
So the Self Care Training days should be a real deep internal search, a deep reviling path, so then when we take care of somebody else:
Yes this class is for absolutely everybody, you might know everything about the human body, or nothing at all, however as a therapist I cannot imagine a more efficient way to serve my clients, starting from the most important one: MY Self, YOUR Self.
PS Check out the new dates for the Arvigo® Self Care Training in NL!
PPS we are organising the very first Professional Care Training (PCT), Level 2 in THE NETHERLANDS in 2018… what a great occasion to enter a wonderful new path!
in these days many transformation are happening inside of me and obviously outside. The World is facing the result of the choices made so far, where people are not always (if ever) the first value in the equation. During these almost 15 years of deep research and work I have been constantly asking myself why am I doing this, why is so important for me to empower the sisters that are all around me and the brothers who sometimes decide to explore their innermost world.
The answer is always the same: empowered and loving people will not mess with other people, with animals and nature. Empowered and loving people, those who deeply love themselves and the manifestation of the World around them will co-operate, will co-create in order to put up an awesome place that we can call home.
Lately I am processing again another layer of this big onion called life, and I am realising that what I am looking for is a World where I can feel Safe, because when I feel Safe I can give So much to whomever is around me, on the contrary when I feel fearful, my Human Nature comes out to protect me, and sometimes this protection comes out in ways that are not always what I would like to manifest. But we are humans, when we feel attacked our reptilian brain takes over and the Fight of Flight mechanisms is in motion.
How can we then feel safe all the time? How can we create, co-create, together a way to feel safe all the time, how do we build up such an internal protection in order to stand on our feet, no matter what is going on outside?
My Answer is, once again, Self Care. And Yes, here I am specifically talking about the Self Care I am sharing according to Dr. Rosita Arvigo Teachings.
Why so? Because Knowing my Body, Knowing my Uterus, my Gut, connecting to the Abdominal Organs has given me that center, has allowed me to be present in that energetic ball in my Pelvis that represent my Home, my Safety spot, my Intuition, my Internal Love.
This is why I am so passionate about teaching the Self Care Arvigo® to every person who is ready to enter in a safe area and to explore what is in their Pelvic Energetic Ball.
If every person on this Planet contact his/her pelvis and therefore her/his Real Power, Real Love, Real Wisdom… I bet we will face a huge improvement, we will be taking care of each other, we will be empowering each other lifting one another up, working for a collective good. Including animals, plants, waters, lands…
Are you ready for a New Paradigm? Are you Ready to get in Touch with yourSelf?
All the symptoms your belly is showing are, in my opinion, just a call from your body asking you to take Care of YourSelf.
'Most people Think too much, get the laugh and half of their troubles and sickness will go away, and the blessed herbs will do the rest' don Elijio Panti
Just woke up from a dream, dr. Rosita Arvigo was there, talking to me about how much is important to embrace yourself, every aspect of yourself, even the one that you cannot really stand, because that's the way, the only way you can blossom. The dream was so vivid that when I woke up I had to take some minutes to realize that I was not in Belize but in my own bedroom. But this is exactly the message that the pleasant abdominal Self Care treatment is giving you every time you apply it to your self. The Self Care is working on your abdomen in multiple ways, the first very tangible level is the physical one and that is very easy to feel. You are basically relaxing the diaphragm, bringing all the life force to your pelvis, you are cleaning it and you are enhancing the power of your intestine to absorb the goods from your food and let go of what you don't need in your system. Not to mention the fact that nourishing all the tissues you are contributing to the health of your ligaments therefore you are helping repositioning or maintaining in the right position your uterus.
But there is more. We know now that the emotions tend to be stored in your abdomen, some of them are very easy to release, some others are there forever and sometimes you cannot even remember what is there, but you might suffer from some abdominal pain and you cannot figure out where does it come from... probably some experience that you rather would love to remove, is there, stuck, in the form of a contraction or a pain. So think for a moment if you could help yourself, gently, removing all the emotions stored in your abdomen... every time you work with Self Care you are helping the first 3 chakras to flow and open up.
But there is more. We are specular, so above as below, our belly is actually consider our second brain. 'Digestion, of all the bodily functions, in the one which exercise the greatest influence on the mental state of the individual' (Jean Antheme Brillat-Savarin). Have you ever notice how little can you produce after a fatty, abundant, sugary meal? The thoughts are slow and you feel like you'd rather lay on the couch instead of doing anything else.
But there is more. If your belly is working fine, all the symptoms that are bothering you are gone, if your energy is free of flowing, your first chakra is well connected to the Earth and the Roots, if your emotions and your second chakra are working in harmony and there is space for new projects/kids/lovers/experiences to look forward to, if your third chakra and your opinion about yourself are great and well balance... how would you feel?
The Arvigo Techniques definitely taught me to really embrace myself and the great thing is that you start to take good care of yourself. If you are a practitioner, you really need to first do your Self Care.
There are 2 ways of learning the Self Care:
1. During the first session with your practitioner, you will be taught the Self Care because it is very important to us that you keep on working with yourself in between the sessions. 3 sessions are generally recommended for reaching a good balance, if you are in a special moment of your life dealing with PMS, 'infertility', menopause, and much more symptoms, also men are really happy about this treatment, than you can help yourself keeping your abdomen relaxed and in well balance so your sessions with your practitioner will be way more advantageous. You will learn also many supportive modalities that your practitioner will suggest according to your needs.
2. You can participate to a Self Care workshop, there are many all over the world, and we are going to have the first edition in The Netherlands in March! The workshop is also one of the steps to become a practitioner. It is a very nice Self Care full immersion in which you will learn a lot about your abdomen and how you can help yourself.
Self Care should be taught at school, should be a practice that every mother and daughter share together, there is so much more to know about your health and the health of your reproductive and digestive system. I see many women in my practice struggling every day with all sorts of symptoms, we can do a lot to help, we can take care of ourself, we can share with our friends, we can blossom in our life, we just need to take in charge our own body/mind/emotion system.
Self Care: the first level to become an Arvigo Practitioner is coming in The Netherlands - 10 days left to enrol!Participating to this class you will receive a wonderful present: 'Journeys in Healing'!
The Self Care - Level 1, is the first of 3 levels of training to become an Certified ATMAT practitioner. No specific qualification is required, this workshop is open to any person who desires to take good care of themselves or become a qualified ATMAT practitioner.

For this summer my husband and I decided to really work on our relationship, we are generally fine and we live a good life together, but, like every couple, we also have corners that could be a little bit soften up. As everybody we have to deal with life and life is not always this beautiful fairy tail, is it? However in our home, weather we are in a couple or single or a multitude of people, we can always improve the style we handle things and the way we treat each other, or ourselves. So we picked a couple of books to read/put to practice, mine is ‘The happiness project’ by Gretchen Rubin, and the other is ‘How your unconscious mind rules your behaviour’ by Leonard Mlodinow. Both books are really nice and there are many suggestions we can actually put to practice.
For this particular article though there was something about the second book that really caught my attention, although the subject was familiar and known: we can influence each other’s life by projecting our expectations, we all know and experience it, but this research helped me to find solutions to really put this behaviour to serve me and my life.
“…weather or not we wish to, we communicate our expectations to others, and they often respond by fulfilling those expectations…. and they have expectations of you.” Leonard Mlodinow
The author explains how teacher expectations, for example, changed the IQ test of their students, the students took all the IQ test at one given moment and the results were average. But the teachers had in mind that some students were more intelligent than others. Those who were believed to be more clever (although they were average at the beginning) in a second test scored much better than the others, simply because they were thought to be ‘cleverer’.
We all do expect certain outcomes from certain people. As matter of fact in those periods in which I believe my husband is great, he really surprise me in many ways; on the contrary when I doubt that he can’t simply do anything right, he fails even to load the dishwasher… I know it and he knows it, so, why shall we carry on doubting about one another and make our lives less than great? Good question!
Here are some practical tools I decided to use in my life in order to change this non sense:
In a few days this routine proved to be really efficient and to give immediate results in therms of welcoming life with gratitude and to do your best in what you are busy with. Look at yourself as if you were a toddler learning how to walk: would you tell yourself “you are never going to walk, just give up” or you would think “I am really proud of you, little one, I am looking forward to see you running”!?!?!
You will run, one day, but before that you might fall many times, just keep on going, I HAVE FAITH IN YOU!
Have faith because I know everything is going to be all right.
In the bottom of my heart I know, it is all going to be ok and I know many women that are now finally embracing their children and that their struggle was really worth it. However when you are in the mist of the process it can be really difficult.
It has been for me, for many years, and for many women who seek my help filled up with hope and good intentions, opened to receive a new treatment and finally being able to really get pregnant and finally birth their dream, becoming mothers at the end of this long and challenging excursion.
Personally I have 2 parts constantly working inside me: do the best you can to make it happen and then completely forget about it. The second part is quite complicated as for most of the women I know the condition of NOT having a child represent a deep, huge, painful emptiness, almost like a deep grief that won't allow you to BE without IT.
It is like perceiving yourself not as a WOMAN but as a NON MOTHER, as if you are missing something, without being able to enjoy the fact that you are an adult and in the meantime you can do whatever you want and that other people with kids can NOT.
Countless time people with kids / the others / talk to you as if you are super lucky as you can have sex in the middle of the kitchen, screaming to the roof, nobody cares, children are not there... Or that they have kind of superpower because they are parents, and you can never really have the idea because you don't know what does it mean. And when you talk about your cat, which is the closest thing to a kid you have, they look at you with a look that to me sounds "how you dare to even talk about your cat, I am talking about MY CHILD", I know, I would like to, I am not in the position to do so!
I would like to share with you some considerations, if you are in the same path, you might find yourself interested in some or all the steps I worked out. If you are not in this path, maybe some friends or relatives of yours are, and this can be interesting to consider other point of views.
Every epic adventure talks about a coming back home, after experiencing the most incredible adventures all around the world, in fact trying to get to the end of the world itself sometimes, the protagonist needs to go back home, no longer being the persone that he used to be because he really became aware of life during his wonderful journey. Well isn't it what we are all doing when after many many years of experiencing all sorts of adventures we finally want to go back home? But where is home? In my practice my answer is quite clear, my home is in the very center of my body, where all my adventures and emotions have been stored, not to harm me, but to teach me. And the lesson is 'listen to yourself' - 'know yourself' as written on the Apollo Temple in Delfi.
We need our story to drag ourself outside enough from the center in order to have a deep will to come back in. Without the past we have had we might not feel the need to come back home and therefore we miss the chance of meeting out true self. The ultimate knowledge. The adventures, which sometimes are truly painful, are shaping and forge ourselves enough to be able to really recognise who we really are.
The good news is that we do not need an epic tragic journey to go back to the center, we can lovingly approach to this sacred inner space with Love and Sweet Care. In fact the more love we put in the trip the easier we crack the code and we access our immensely beautiful home of our soul.
Over a cup of tea with a friend, talking about how to really get in touch with the center and how make it available for everybody, Raquel and I thought we could have used clay to shape a wonderful womb in order to be able to really talk to her and make a unique contact.
Some of the epic adventures we have experienced in life are really painful to look at, and sometimes we prefer to look on the other direction to spare ourselves from extra suffering. Thing is that when we turn our head from that adventure, we also miss the other wonderful and joyful periods that are also part of who we are falling into a trap and believing that all we had was really a bad hand of cards.
By slowly letting go the traumatic memories, and the Arvigo Techniques® is definitely a wonderful way of letting the pain/anger/frustration out from the tissues, we can look at the very core and start a loving process towards who we are. The immense creativity energy stored in your womb becomes then available and you can start manifesting the life you really desire.
This is why we are creating a day journey into creating a dialog with your center using several tools:
Contact your wonderful self and let the world meet who you really are:

For this new year many new events are in preparation for you! Some have already a date, some others need a bit more time ;)
I hope you took time to relax and set up some goals for your New Year that will be really Shining if we allow it to be, clearing up our Mind~Body~Soul system can be a good start to welcome the new and let go of the old. This is why I decided to have a 3 day with a specific Ayurvedic dish, maybe you would like to do it too. It was a client that introduced it to me (sharing is so important amongst us) and now I want to pass it on to you, since I tried it and it was not difficult at all... the mind sometimes wishes chocolate and coffee... but you can easily manage it :)
This nice dish is suitable for every constitution according to the Ayurvedic knowledge. You can use it as a meal or in a mono-diet, like I did. Practically for 3 days I have been eating exclusively this soup, I kept on doing my Self Care Routine, I did 2 Castor Oil packs and the 3rd day I also had a V Steam. So now, are you ready for a deep cleansing and a huge step towards a super wonderful 2016???
250 gr. red lentils, soaked for a couple of hours (or as reccomanded)
200 gr. brown rice or quinoa
1,250 lt. water (it absorbs a lot of water)
1 carrot, thinly sliced or grated
1-2 celery sticks, thinly sliced
2-3 leaves of kale or collard greens
2 spoons coconut oil
15 gr (a spoon) of fennel seeds
15 gr of cumin
15 gr of coriander
15 gr of tumeric
3-5 peppercorns grounded
2,5 cm fresh ginger, peeled and grated
1/2 lemon juice
5 springs of fresh cilantro chopped
pinch of salt at taste.
In a pan add the coconut oil with all the spices (fennel, cumin, coriander, tumeric and pepper), heat until the spices are a bit toasted. Add the water and let it boil. Add the lentils and the rice (or quinoa). Cover the pan but not completely. Add the vegetables. Let it cook until all the ingredients become soft and well cooked. Removed from the stove and add the cilantro, the lemon, the ginger, the numeric and salt. I used a pressure cooker since I believe it is healthier.

Welcome to the winter that is finally arrived, with mild temperatures so far, here in The Netherlands. If we compared the Moon Cycle to the Seasons of the year, this would be the Menses time, a time of cleaning and introspection. If you are experiencing some desire of MeTime, on your own, it is probably because you feel the need for a nice closure to let go the past year and to really look what your real desires/goals/missions are for the next year that is about to come.
I believe that it is very important though, before closing down, to really celebrate all your learnings and achievements, I am sure you had really nice moments and probably you also had really terrible moments, both of the categories, however, shaped you the way you are now, so I hope you can embrace it all and celebrate this wonderful You.
Celebrate and be grateful with yourself, as women we tend to be really hard on ourself and to really see what we did ‘wrong’ what we could have done ‘better’ but… why can’t we also see what greatness we achieved as mothers, wives, women, workers, artists… friends… lovers…
Take a moment for yourself and really feel how you have grown up this year…
The more Self Care I am doing, the more I can give, to my family, friends and clients. The more I am in contact with myself, the less I can make choices that somehow can harm my sisters/brothers and ultimately the planet.
I wish you a wonderful Holiday Season, no matter what you are celebrating, I hope you get all the love you deserve and that you can spread this love all around you.
Many people are convinced that their stomach is pretty acidic because they experience heartburn and feel the need of taking anti-acid products for feeling less acidity. However I have lately discovered that sometimes the case is the opposite, which is a low stomach acid, which doctors call hypochlorhydria.
Stomach acid is produced naturally within our bodies, and everyone produces different amounts. As we get older, our bodies produce even less. In addition to age, a poor diet high in sodium and processed foods also causes a decrease in stomach acid.
Our stomach makes acids in order to digest food, in fact in this part of the digestive system, the food is broken into smaller components allowing the intestine a better absorption. Not only, the acid can also kill harmful bacteria that can affect individual's health.
Some of the Symptoms that is related to low stomach acid are heartburn, indigestion, bloating, food allergies, vitamins and mineral deficiencies, autoimmune disorders and fatigue. If you are experiencing heartburns and you take anti-acid pills, you might make the symptoms worse.
What can cause this digestive challenge can be the deficiency of minerals and vitamins, as they are required to produce the acid. Stress and alcohol consumptions can also be counterproductive. Cold drinks and food might also produce this effect.
There are many natural ways to prevent and take care of your stomach health:
~ The Arvigo Techniques of Maya Abdominal Therapy® is a way of preventing and taking care of our natural Digestive System wellness.
~ Daily Self Care is a way to keep your digestive and reproductive system in balance. If you consult an Arvigo® Therapist you will learn the treatment after your first session; or there are many workshops around the globe.
~ An healthy diet that avoids refined carbohydrates, better a whole wheat ones. In general processed food can be really challenging for our system. Alcohol and caffeine also should be considered on a 20% 80% balance (80% really healthy good diet/20% pleasure and fun food - however healthy food can be really joyous).
~ Sitting on the couch during meals can make things quite difficult too.
~ There are some foods that can implement the production of hydrochloric acid like vinegar, black olives, celery, leafy vegetables, lemon;
~ Last but not least, try to take your stress level under control, maybe with some yoga, meditation, walking in nature, when your digestive system is working correctly the amount of energy and wellness we are benefit from is priceless.

Love yourself as a Almost Mother!
And again is Christmas, seems yesterday I took the decorations down. For many people this is a quite difficult period, for many years, after my misscarriage I could be quite ok the all year but couldn't stand a shop decorated for the seasonal festivities and also I couldn't stand the family's meeting where all the attentions were for kids, new moms and so on. So, I hope you can find peace in this period and that you can enjoy yourself and life anyways. I hope you can find a nice sister that can hold you and I really wish that the experience made you even more beautiful and wonderful.
With much love and blessings
May this be a New Birth for a New World in which we can live in peace and harmony amongst each other, no matter the belief system we like to make our own.
Long time no see! Sometimes we just need time to figure it out what is happening and how to transform your habits for a new state of mind... and it is great, not to be able to fix with words what is going on is amazingly beautiful, because we can flow in the moment without trying to incapsulate it. Just contemplating what is going on is so juicy and transformative. For me this period has been all about female lineage and acceptance and I just realised what was happening... thanks to a client that sent me a TEDs talk by Nicole Daedone (if you are curious please watch it too) - she is talking about female orgasms, which is a nice topic, if you are dealing with wombs and belly all day, but for me what was really inspiring is the connections between roots and relationships, the pleasure and the intimacy. From Bert Hellinger, the father of Family Constellation (as we know them), I have learned that 'without roots, we cannot flight', you need to go below to reach above, and this was clear for me. But today my motto is 'without roots you cannot connect' and this is exactly the transformation I have been observing for this last period... the more I work with my womb the more I connect to my female lineage (also from father's line) the more I connect with people, with my clients, with my friends, family and strangers. So maybe when we start paying really good attentions to our womb/prostate and further down, we do really start connecting with ourself and with others. We are social animals, we need connections, we need our roots!
Self Love - Self Awareness
This is a tiny space where I can share some of my thoughts and experiences, enjoy!
